We're Katie and Amelia, both raising children with SEND in Somerset.

We'd sit in waiting rooms, navigate the systems, carry the weight of it all. And we kept hearing the same thing from other parents and carers: the loneliness was often harder than the diagnosis itself.

We learned that what helped most wasn't another expert telling us what to do - it was talking to someone who'd actually lived it.

Someone who got the daily battles, the guilt, the exhaustion, and also the fierce love that keeps you going.

So we built FLOC - which stands for Freeing Loneliness, Offering Community

This is where parents and carers hold space for each other, exactly as we are. No agenda, no hierarchy.

Just peer-led community across Somerset - monthly meetups in Bruton and Frome, online gatherings, and The Reframe Project for when you need more than a monthly chat.

Together, we believe that connection changes everything.
